ROCKIES SELECT SCOUT TEAM

The Yard is the home of the Rockies Fall Scout Team. The Scout team is selected each year from the talented high school kids in the area to represent the The Yard, the Colorado Rockies and the State of Colorado at showcase events and college exposure games in the fall. The goal of this team is to expose these players to every level of college baseball coaches and professional scouts. This is a very elite team that has a reputation for putting together a highly talented team of college bound players. The success rate speaks for itself! We have been fortunate over the last 8 years to see hundreds of players go on to realize their dream of playing baseball at the college or professional level.

The season starts with introductions at Coors field before a Colorado Rockies game in July. This is the perfect setting to motivate the players and build on the excitement of what's ahead.

Our schedule includes games against regional Junior Colleges and top H.S. showcase teams. We played over 288 innings during the fall of 2006. Previous opponents have included, Lamar JC, Trinidad State, College of Southern Idaho, Salt Lake City Community College, Southern Nevada, Garden City CC, Otero JC, Dixie State Univ., Dodge City CC, Seward County, Northwestern JC, Northeastern JC, NM Military Inst., and Colby CC. We are also exposed each weekend to Division 1, 2, 3 and NAIA coaches that attend our games.

The season ends at the Senior Showcase in Peoria, AZ. This is the biggest showcase event in the fall and the Rockies Scout team has one, of two Colorado spots secured in the tournament each year. This event is attended by almost every college coach in the country and has representation of each Major League team. Players are insured of maximum exposure at this event.

If you would like to be considered for the 2008 Rockies Scout team, please contact Daven Bond at 720-922-1884. Priority is given to 09 graduates, but 2010's will be considered. You will be asked to provide references from your H.S. coach.

Junior College coaches that would like to be included on our schedule should also contact Daven Bond before June 30th, 2008.
